“Raw eaters” are dicing with death, expert warns

PEOPLE who eat raw food in an attempt to be healthy could be sentencing themselves to death, an expert has warned.

Professor Steven Jones, a head of genetics, evolution and environment at the University of College London says that human bodies are no longer able to process raw food.

He spoke out after stars including Megan Fox, Sting and Gwyneth Paltrow are reported to have followed the craze to get in shape.

Animal rights activists and vegans often promote the animal-free diets without being aware of the health risks.

Mr Jones said: “We are the only animal who has ever lived that would starve to death if we ate raw food alone.

“We’ve lost the enzymes and the absorption mechanism to digest raw food.”

According to the professor many people switch to raw veganism to shape up, but they are dicing with death.

Steven Jones added that “wellbeing gurus” who choose a raw diet lifestyle because they don’t loose vital vitamins and minerals lost in cooking, are missing the point.
