AN alpaca farmer with a sense of humour came under fire from activists for shearing hilarious hairdos into their fur.
Helen Kendall Smith, 53, made one looking like a poodle and others appeared to sport wigs like judges.
Funny snaps of the llama-like animals on her alpaca farm in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, triggered fury from Peta.
A spokesman raged: “Shaving patterns into alpacas’ wool has nothing to do with their best interests and everything to do with turning them into objects of ridicule.”
Mum-of-three Helen hit back: “They have to be shorn every year anyway.
“We just left a little bit on rather than take it all off.”
