ANIMAL rights activists have claimed enjoying a glass of cold milk is a potentially racist act.
In one of its most bizarre claims to date Peta says milk is a symbol of white supremacy and therefore enjoying a cold glass could be racist.
It is the latest in a string of strange claims by the animal rights group who recently attacked game giant Nintendo over a milking game which it said did not show the “cruelty” involved.
The group has posted a video on Twitter with the caption: “Did you know that milk has long been a symbol used by white supremacists?”
It claims on its official Twitter feed milk is a “thinly veiled allegory for racial purity”.
Peta offered no support or historical context for the outrageous claim.
The claim was met by online fury and incredulity.
One post read: “Yup it’s official. Peta has gone completely mad. If you drink milk you are a white supremacist.”
Another read: “Peta’s shenanigans vary from the absurd to the downright offensive.”
And another wrote: “Given that most opt the world drinks milk Peta is making a big stretch with its latest round of fear mongering.”
It recently attacked Nintendo claiming the company had “taken all the cruelty out of milking” in a game on one of its hand-held devices.
Online critics branded Peta “humourless stalk chewers and “so ridiculous it beggars belief”.
And last November the group published a video in which they compare animal exploitation to sexual assault.
The video includes numerous women describing their horrific rapes before literally comparing them to some of the things that happen in large-scale food production.
